I am currently a trainee therapist in psychosynthesis psychotherapy. I am in year two of my training and have been given the green light to go ahead with seeing clients (under supervision) by the Institute I am training with – The Institute of Psychosynthesis, and my own therapist.

What is psychosynthesis?

First of all, psychosynthesis is a trip hazard of a word, it took a while for it to roll off my tongue! I came across Psychosynthesis when I was looking to work with a more open and spiritual therapist rather than psychoanalytical. I stumbled across an amazing psychosynthesis therapist that brought together a blend of keeping the therapy grounded and also added in a spiritual element. I love psychosynthesis because it beautifully melts empirical, grounded psychological theory and practice with a spiritual element. We not only deal with what’s in the basement (the past), we also look at what’s in the living room (the now) and what is happening in the loft/attic, the psychospiritual part of our lives; what our true essence, our soul truly wants and needs.

What I do

I know many people are unsure of therapy, we’ve seen so many films and TV shows that depict therapists in all sorts of way. What I can tell you about me is that I keep it ‘real’. Yes I love the psychospiritual and transpersonal elements, I am a reiki practitioner and love a bit of crystal healing. However, I am also very grounded in how our lives actually are on a day-to-day basis. I have worked for many years in corporate and higher education organisations and I understand the challenges that many of us face. I am here to listen, offer tools, tips and some guidance to help you move forward as I know how debilitating it can be to be stuck in the past.
